Had a great stay at Matelote! Super spacious room with a comfy bed and a fantastic shower. Location is perfect, just minutes from the cathedral. Minor downside, could use a little more breakfast variety. Totally loved the charm of the place!

Very good central location - though difficult to find initially. Staff were great and friendly - just right, taking a lot of time to help with enquiries and details. Small scale botique hotel is just right - in quiet street. Nice feature of free wine/water/tea/coffee in the evening, plus plenty of information about the right class of city venues - available in lounge - what to see culturally and where to eat.
Room was rather plain, but well designed though others were more interesting. Air-con and sound system did not work in room, although in early summer this was just OK on the fan alone. Parts of hotel now need a slight refresh - new ownership I'm told. In our room there was no mirror apart from in bathroom and we had to request a hair drier! There is no Wi-Fi and cable connection didn't work for me. But computer is available in reception area.

This hotel is nicely located in the old center. It is on a very quiet side street. The bed was excellent. The reception was friendly. Very stylish small hotel. .
Our room safe wasn't available to use. The battery was low and they replaced it once but it still didn't work. Thus we weren't able to lock up our passports, extra cash, train tickets, etc. But that was the only glitch in an otherwise lovely hotel.

Prime location in the center of Antwerp.
Small room. Difficult to reach with luggage because the hotel is in an area where no traffic is allowed during the afternoon and evening.

The hotel is beautifully designed. Our "deluxe" room was quite large and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and responsive. Ideal location in the Oude Stad, very close to Grote Markt, Kathedraal, and Groenplaats.
The hotel advertises air conditioning on Booked.net. At this time, however, only a few rooms have it. The receptionist believes that a/c will be installed in all rooms soon. Staff apologised for the confusion, and brought us an electric fan. Also, be aware that there is no lift.

We'd like the design of the room and the location of the hotel.
The safe deposit box was broken and could not be used. Room was very noisy, due to the wooden floors we could hear every footstep of out upstairs neighbours.

The location is fantastic, just off the Grooteplaats and around the corner from the Cathedral. The staff are helpful, offering great local recommendations. My room was spacious, modern, and beautifully designed.
The steep spiral staircase could be challenging for those with mobility issues.
